It's the beginning of the weekend before Christmas, you've got everything sourced & sorted. From that which you give to that which you consume, like the turkey the nut-roast, the ham, boxes of fruit & veg along with plenty of booze. And it's all thanks to your little piece of plastic, your flexible friend. You're having a well earned rest & a very well earned drink, sitting before a roaring log fire, watching the flames climb up the chimney. You're drawn inward by the warmth of the fire, when suddenly, a face appears in the flames, an old man, his face painted, his long white beard plaited. Smiling, he holds out his hand, beckoning to you.

I had a dream of perfection
The green trees stood tall in speculation
The blue waters calm in decoration
Eyes wander to see this great situation
I had a dream of perfection
All life stood still for you to absorb
The colors perfectly blended, however many there are
A million years well spent to find a place like this
In this place there is not a fight
In this place there is not a crime
In this place there is no hate
I had a dream of perfection
This place stands miles from civilation
Everyone has manners and nobody lies
The laughter sprinkles lightly as the children play
I had a dream of perfection
The sky stays blue with the mo

The Way I've Never Looked
I never look the same direction twice
Through tall meadows and thick grassland
The steepest of hills and the tallest of trees
The flowing of rivers and the buzzing of bees
I never look the same direction twice
Long strides and short steps
Cities and country sides
Highways and gravel roads
I never look the same direction twice
The colorful sunset with birds in horizon
The harmonious frogs make home on the pond
The grown man clutches in cane
I saw a rose with the most vibrant colors
I saw a vulture gently awaiting his prey
I saw a fast cat run past me
I never look the same direction twice
The mountains get taller as the day goes

If You Don't Mind I Lied
I could fake a smile and say I'm fine
But if you don't mind, that'd be a lie
I could stay still until you pass by
But if you don't mind, that'd be a lie
I could crawl back and say I don't mind
I could just say I'll accept your every word
I could hate you for everything you do
But if you don't mind, that'd be a lie
I could convince myself I'd accept your silence
But if you don't mind, that'd be a lie
I could do many things to keep you beside me
I could do many things to protect myself from you
I should just pass you by and fake I don't want you
But if you don't mind, that'd be a lie
I should just convince myself you're really not
Adaera Adaera
reminds me of summer
and hockey
and all the seasons and weather
And the skies too blue to be real
And life that blooms before your eyes
Aliens and architecture
Automobiles
and times that were better
A flaming sea of fire
and a sky
a ball of red blazing
a bridge that fills the horizon
and a breath that must be taken
to catch up to another
Awesome streams
and fields and wonder
enough to fill the imagination
with the pictures that she's taken
glass and fire and faceless
Some images
of tragedy
while others still
amazing to me
to captivate the mind
and words that might take you for a ride
into a distant past
